NB: U10 Boys shotput results 20DEC17 to be corrected
The emphasis in Little Athletics is in personal improvement, and the award system (green, blue, and red awards) is based on an athlete’s own performance improvement without comparison of his/her performance against other athletes.
The green award is given after completing a minimum number of events.
The blue award is given for an improvement in a minimum number of events (number of events increases with age).
The red award is given for a further improvement in these events.
Refer to Personal Improvement Awards section of the Little Athletics Tasmania (LATas) information manual for number of events required to qualify for awards.
Gold star awards are given to athletes who achieve a State qualifying performance once in two events from the same group area.
Refer to Gold Star Awards in the LATas information manual.
If you think you are due to receive an award badge, please see the registrar and take your manual!
State and Regional Meetings
In addition to weekly local centre events, there are State and regional meetings throughout the season. These are detailed in your manual (issued on registration) and will be mentioned in newsletters.
Athletes only need to meet qualifying standards for the State Championships. All other LASTas competition meetings are open to
athletes, regardless of ability but must register with the Registrar. The closing dates for entries will be advertised in the newsletter and over the PA system.
Only athletes who qualify twice in an event are eligible to compete at the State Individual Championships. A supplementary entry is available for those athletes who only qualify once in an event but there is no guarantee it will be accepted. Entry forms are available from the Registrar late January / early February.
